Young Midge has an assignment from school to take up a hobby learning a skill that was practiced by one’s ancestors. She hits on the idea of learning the art of smuggling. She reads up about it at the library, she collects family legend, she’s even found various legal documents about court trials involving her forebears. Now it’s time to put that knowledge into action to save the family grocery business, which extends along both sides of the border.
